The Story Of This Painting.

Back in October of 2018 I was asked by the Flagler County Art League to paint a mural for their new gallery. They wanted me to do something with my dots. So after giving it some thought I decided to use this iconic image of Salvador Dali.

Dali used many symbolic images in his paintings including ants, crutches, and butterflies. After working with the image a little bit a surrealistic concept came to me. One of Dali's butterflies would be pealing back an the image of Dali to reveal a second image. The "Butterfly Power" mural was born.

A year later I decided to create this painting 'Butterfly Power' on 5 sheets of plexiglass with the same concept. I used acrylic paint on 4 of the sheets of 24" x 32" plexiglass. On the 5th sheet I attached gold wallpaper.
